Coop
Instead of tapping into an existing thread, I thought I would create this. So far, all of my lumber has been stored horizontally. After some rearranging, I now find some vertical space. Is there no danger in the boards bowing if stored vertically?
wtnhighlander
@Coop, all my storage is vertical. Helps that I have 12' of space in the garage. Never noticed any bow, but the lean angle 10*, maybe less. Probably different if you store green lumber.
Coop
Thanks Ross. All of this is kiln dried by @Spanky. It is now stickered at my office which is 30 minutes away and I would like to bring some of it home.
phinds
I store a lot of my exotic planks vertically. No problems.

No more tetris on the wall!

No more tetris on the wall! Exactly. Here's my setup. Different height compartments make optimum use of space for various sized planks How my numbering system got so screwed up on the SketchUp layout I don't know. Just stupidity I guess.
Chestnut
Keeping the wood as close to vertical as possible will help prevent any warping or bowing.
curlyoak
Vertical is fine. If the floor is concrete lay some wood on the floor.
