curlyoak
Hurricane watch along the east coat from mid Florida to southern Florida for tropical storm Nicole.. I am dead center on the forecast cone of probability.. Subject to variations. It is anticipated to be a strong tropical storm or a low grade hurricane. At least it will work me in preparation and after storm clean up. Worse is to sustain damage. Not probable due to the anticipated strength. Wish me luck! It will be here late Wednesday and early Thursday.

curlyoak
I think a little luck has come my way. The forecast calls for it to enter the coast line 30 or 40 miles north vs an anticipated direct hit. Being south of a hurricane moving west spinning counter clockwise eliminates storm surge south of the eye. It all reversed with ian as that storm was headed east so south got that eye got the surge. People misunderstand surge. Flooding water rises up. Sometimes fast. A surge is a wall of water moving very fast with a strong current.
Tom King
Sounds good. I wouldn't bet on the forecasted path not changing several more times.
curlyoak
Now it is back to ground zero is here. At least it will be no more than a Cat 1 hurricane. Only thing to do is take it as it comes.
Popular Post curlyoak
Power just came on. Since last night at 11:00 pm. Damage was insignificant. Mostly yard debris. And undoing the preparation. Whenever I lose power it reminds me of how dependent I am. Working myself back to normal. It was a direct hit. I have been through Cat 1 hurricanes in the past. Never had damage. Stronger hurricanes have cost me. And this was a very late hurricane.

This plant is in bloom looks fine and just went through the hurricane. I moved a few plants and it turns out it was not necessary. This is my second November hurricane. I was born in one in November. My mom told me that she was glad to stay in the hospital a few more days due to the storm. She didn't have to cook thanksgiving and ate it in bed. So it seems that I get along with November hurricanes.
