Popular Post Hammer5573
I saw the plans for this table in “Queen Anne Furniture “ and I thought that it would be a challenging build. The full length knee blocks, the flush fitted apron-leg post joints and the petite legs were unique to me. I found out that the most challenging part was matching the grooves for the bead molding in the aprons with the leg posts. I laminated the legs because I was concerned about how thin they were and I assumed that laminating them would improve the strength. I would be interested to hear if anybody else agrees with this decision?
Chet
That came out really nice. Challenging is good for the woodworker's soul. What wood did you use? It looks like Sapele or Mahogany but it could be the finish you used that makes it appear that way.

wtnhighlander
I tend to agree that laminating long grain to long grain reduces the risk of splitting where the grain 'runs out' in a thin, curvy piece like those legs. Nicely done, BTW. It doesn't look laminated.

pkinneb
That is one beautiful table!! Great job! Looking at it I can definitely see how the grooves for the bead molding would be a challenge.
Mark J
Beautiful table. You should do a journal of one of your projects.
