Hey Matt, If you're interested, there's a Northwest Woodworkers Association meetup this Thursday at the Northgate Rockler. I just joined last month. Might be interesting, also the association get's a discount at some local stores (Woodcraft, Rockler, Crosscut, etc)

I have been looking for some kind of woodworking group in the area. And I like discounts.

Popular Post Mark-in-Seattle
Designing an "affordable" kit-home product. Target cost $110/psf. Not smart enough after 3 years of effort in retirement to use prefab modular construction methods successfully, however my design using structural steel portal frames on 8'ft-ctc with composite floor panels of corrugated steel topped with plywood has resulted in an 80% reduction in parts. Looks good so far. SkyCiv finite element structural analysis software tells me the first prototype should meet the required loads and building code. Hiring structural engineers will be necessary to verify this of course. Hoping WoodTalk forum can occasionally help me understand how to design and build interior wood storage walls and partitions correctly. Comfortable with metal forming and manufacturing, however only limited experience with my table saw, router, sanders and Kreg jig. In return I will try to offer what advice I am able regarding metal forming, Sketchup-Pro and the use of structural analysis software, though I am NOT a structural engineer. Also regarding my mild steel welding skills, I can only endeavor to be adequate. Thank-you. Currently living with my wife in Seattle, WA and traveling to: understand the world and improve my photography skills. My profile photo was taken on a 2024 photo safari trip to Tarangire National Park in Tanzania.
