jtooley75
Anyone have any unloading tips for a heavy TS from a pickup truck? I may purchase one for pickup soon and needed some good ideas how to get it onto my garage floor from truck with least of trouble. Thanks. Skunkeye
Unpack it in the bed of the pickup, move the fence, table extensions, etc. separately, have a friend or two help with the main body.
Southwood
Shunk has the best option. I do it a different way. Wish I would have dropped to saw.
Jfitz
If it's in a box, get some ramps down from the pickup and just slide it down. The longer the ramps the better..
areynoldsre
If it were me, I'd hire someone to do it for me.
nateswoodworks
I agree with John as far as ramps, 2x10's or so with a couple of cleats attached to the underside so they can't slide apart from eachother. If you are able another great thing to do is drill holes into the ramps at the foot and drive a steel rod through the ramps and into the ground, this makes it so they can't slide off the end of the truck. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Nate
wgeils
I recently picked up the Ridgid R4512 tablesaw from HD and rented their $20 truck to get it home. The truck has ramps tucked under the bed. I was able to slide it down to the ground in my garage will only one other person helping me. After it was in my garage I unpack it and moved it into my basement with a two wheel dolly piece by piece.
Darnell Hagen
I load and unload unisaws by myself. Drop the blade and crank it to 45° to pull the motor inside the cabinet. Put the back lip of the top on the tailgate. Roll it up onto it's top. Reverse at your destination. Contractors saws work the same way, just be careful the motor doesn't flop around. Eric.
Whatever you do, I recommend NOT using a Harbor Freight chain hoist. One tried to kill me.
Jerry_in_SD
When I purchased a cabinet saw several years ago, I rented a flatbed truck with a lift gate.
davestanton
Tie a rope around it and anchor the other end of rope to a light pole, drive truck away from pole. Easy.

Lol, now that would be a sight to see! I would definitely have to have a warranty with that method ; )
tim0625
Tie a rope around it and anchor the other end of rope to a light pole, drive truck away from pole. Easy. 30 mph backward....BRAKES...go with Nate's idea...2x10s, 2 or 3 people...dolly at the bottom
bclark
I would recommend renting a truck with a lift gate or a trailer and use a dolly. I would also recommend getting a friend to help.
PeteJr
Speaking from experience, use ramps, 2 x 12 by 12 feet long. You will need a helper. If you can park the truck any place in your yard where you lower the bed to ground distance do it, it will make unloading even easier. ChetlovesMer
Buy your table saw at Acme Tool. They deliver and set it up for you. It took four guys to get mine to my shop. By the way, they did have a tailgate lift and a walkie powered pallet truck.
