Popular Post Dknapp34
Picked this guy up the other day to replace my sad, little old Makita lunchbox planer (if you look carefully past the garbage and clutter, you might see it in the background): Woodcraft is having a deal this month where you get the stand ($200 value) for free if you buy the 735. Not a bad deal and it was just the excuse I needed to finally pull the trigger and upgrade my planer. Looking forward to makings some chips soon. It's been a while since I've done any real woodworking.
Popular Post RichardA
Congrats.... You'll like it! Do you have DC? That planer has a chip ejector, that throws chips about 15 feet. You need to keep your collecting tube as straight as you can for the longest distance you can. It'll clog up a tight turn so be careful.
Dknapp34
Ha, that's impressive! Thanks for the warning. I have a 3hp Oneida cyclone, so I am hoping that it can power through any potential clogs. If not I might have to reconfigure my ducting to compensate, because there is one relatively tight turn. Except I don't have a truck, so it will just be the 735 blowing chips into my neighbor's open windows.

That's right! More capacity that way.
ben_r_
Nice! I had the same setup. Check out the Wixey Digital Plaer Readout Gauge for it. Nice accessory to have!

MisterDrow
I remember when I bought my porter cable lunchbox planer someone told me, "You're going to want the dust collection hood with that." I figured I'd just get it later... and then I used it for a VERY small project... holy cow that's a lot of shavings!
Mick S
I've had mine for a few years now and have been really pleased with it. It's really well thought out, easy to change blades and I rarely experience any snipe. Great value!
