2nd floor
Very nice. Seeing inlays like this push me towards attempting it. The results as yours demonstrated a lot of practice. Do you do inlays often?
lildesertwoodshop
2nd floor, yea nope this is my first go with this type of woodworking. The "inlay" is only pieces of wood laid out and glued up , then re cut on the table saw and then all four portions and center portion re glued up to get the shape. See pic - Red lines represent table saw cuts. Hope this helps and give it a try it's easy !!!!

Tpt life
Not to offend, but explaining your process has helped me understand your third pic. I saw that there is a touch of a stagger where the black wood creates a point to the left of the pic. It only is visible with that tight closeup. lildesertwoodshop
C Shaffer, Nope no offense taken , It was a rookie mistake on my part however as I am a rookie these thing are permissible. The “fix for the extruding 1/64” point was a simple one utilizing a flat razor blade as an edge and a one hair from a thick bristle brush making the connection with some black paint and then sealing all with another quick spray coat of Arm-R- Seal. See Pic for that magic.
