Tpt life
Bevel up and bevel down are two different types of planes. They are not different configurations of the same plane. Slight misunderstanding of what you were reading.
Coop
Thanks Saffer. I did read it as I could flip it. Shows how much I don't know. I see you're in Elkhart. We were once a rep for Elkhart Brass, fire dept supplies.

Coop
Didn't know they had that product line. I've been in fire protection for 40 years now. Getting to where I think I may have put out enough fires though?
Tpt life
More about the raw product and less about the finished. There are many brass production companies in town that draw on raw product that is more controlled for quality purposes. I was attempting to be witty :-/

Eric.
Homeboy is a honey badger with that thing. You know why he planes so bad ass? Because his shoes match his shirt. cellardoor
https://www.lie-nielsen.com/product/DVDs/building-furniture-with-hand-planes?node=4071 My girlfriend bought me this DVD early on and it was really helpful. It's very direct and comprehensive. No tips and tricks so much as the basic fundamentals of setting up and using the tools for their intended purpose.
