Dewald Swanepoel
Say you want to run two pieces of wood against the spindle sander or belt sander or even over the jointer at the same time. You need to get both down to exactly the same shape/size. Is there a way to glue the two together so that they can be finished together and then somehow unglue them without doing too much damage to the glued surfaces? davewyo
Maybe double stick tape or hot melt glue (low temp).
Strasberry
When I was a kid in shop, my old shop teacher would glue a block on the back of a bowl to be turned on the lathe. He would place two layers of newspaper in between the two layers of wood and glue like normal. When it came time to separate a chisel popped them right apart. I don't know or remember how hard it was to clean the glue up, but the idea has stayed with me for more than 50 years.Always wanted to try it on something but so far the opportunity hasn't presented itself! ..Kev
Hold them with clamps and double stick tape. You could also leave each end of the parts long and screw them together.
Tom Cancelleri
You could also glue them with a piece of paper in between the wood, the paper will allow you to break the joint. It's a trick a lot of turners use. Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk

wdwerker
+1 for paper and white glue. But double face carpet tape works as well.
wtnhighlander
Yet another option: form from one thick slab, then slice it in half.
Coop
Blue tape if you're just working parts of it.
Indy Cindy
+1 for paper and white glue. But double face carpet tape works as well. +2 on both the paper/glue joint and the double stick carpet tape. Surprisingly the tape works so well it is sometimes difficult to separate the pieces.
