Coop
No sir, last stop would be Brownsville and before that, Harlingen. Bird hunted that area for more than 20 years. Loved the Valley until it started becoming " unstable for golfers, hunters and fishermen " on the prowl for a good weekend!
trialbyfire
Lots of good dove hunting down there. Those the birds you were after? Or are their quail down there too? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
wtnhighlander
No one here has ever claimed to have enough clamps, except for Eric. And he was wrong.
trialbyfire
A month later.... The table is done and at its final resting place with instructions to put another coat if finish on it. This past weekend my dad came down again and we got the seat portion dry fitted I'm wondering if I may have made an error as far a movement in the attachment method for the seat slats Do I get to plug all bajillion of these holes and drill again or am OK since the pieces are relatively skinny. For clarity this is cedar from Home Depot that has acclimated to my shop. Howeved, the finished product will reside in Dallas ( I'm on San Antonio). The finish will be 2 coats of this stuff. Please tell me my lapse in thinking didn't create more work for me... ..Kev
I think you're fine with the dowels.. The cedar is fairly soft and the slats aren't that wide. Looking great!

wdwerker
Experts are guys who have made plenty of mistakes and eventually figured out how to fix or hide them!

Coop
Well heck, I'm closer to being an expert than I thought, as I've done both of those many times?
wtnhighlander
The cedar is fairly soft, which seems to help avoid damage from wood movement. I'm sure you will be fine.
Cdlong
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I see you used the plans from Woodcraft. Any reviews? How is the final product, comfortable to sit in?
