Dave's Not Here
In the past whenever I wanted to show that I have read all of the posts I was interested in all I needed to do was click on the "Mark Forums Read" prompt and that was that. Lately however after I have done that I'm getting a pop-up box asking me if that is what I really want to do. If that wasn't what I wanted to do then I wouldn't have clicked on the "Mark Forums Read" prompt in the first place. Why all of a sudden do we need to make this a two step process? Chet
Not everyone is perfect in the high tech realm, especially some one like me that doesn't have the computer dexterity that some of you grew up on. Two steps just gives us an added chance to catch a mistake. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Mark J
More than once I've fumbled my phone only to mark a forum as read.
drzaius
It only does that for me when I'm using a mobile device. On a desktop it behaves as before, without the prompt. I actually like it this new feature, because a number of times in the past, my fat fingers have accidentally marked a thread as read. Eric.
Just use the New Content feature and you won't have to worry about using "mark forum read."
wtnhighlander
It is also possible to create a custom filter for new content. For example, I made one that jumps to the first unread post of each selected thread, unlike the default 'New Content' filter, which drops you at the beginning of the thread. Of course, that makes sense now. I mostly only visit the Internet when using my desktop computer so point and click is my world. I now see how those with fat fingers would appreciate this whoops get around.
