madmathew
I have one of these for sale locally but I can't find much information on it. It looks like its a 5hp 3 phase saw that is left tilt. I have a phase converter and 220V power in my barn so that should be alright for me. Any thoughts on this or items I should check before buying? He is asking $600 for it. Tom King
What fence? otherwise, a good saw.
madmathew
It has a Biesemeyer 52" fence that came with it from the factory.
Dennis O'Shea
It's a pretty good deal have you seen it run ?
Tom King
I"d buy it, if it has no broken parts. Don't expect the blade cranks to work smoothly, without cleaning, and lubing, but if no broken trunnion parts, I'd be taking it home. Brendon_t
At 600 bucks, as long as there are no major broken pieces in trunnion, cranks, and the spindle is not bent, I don't see how you can go wrong. I have close to the same saw that I converted to 1ph and love it
Chestnut
Some day I'll buy a 2nd table saw and this is eactly what i'm looking for. I'd look into VFDs might be cheaper and easier than trying to convert to single phase.
madmathew
Alright, I got it home today. I just need my dad to stop by and help me wire up the phase converter and set up the saw. Anybody know of a good tuning guide?

I think Marc did a video on table saw tuning. www.woodwhisperer.com
drzaius
As was just was just mentioned in another thread, FWW has release a bunch of machine setup videos that are reportedly quite good. They're behind paywall, but the membership is worth it. https://www.finewoodworking.com/2018/07/30/ep-3a-machine-setup-jointer-part-
Pwk5017
5hp left tilt saw, what’s not to like for $600? I have a right tilt ‘99 I bought for $150. A couple years later, it’s held its settings perfectly. I used to have to adjust my delta contractor saw every couple months.
