Chris b
I need some help with blade length for my 14" Jet bandsaw. I picked up a 5/8" - 93.5" length Allpro blade today from Rockler and with tension all the way down I am still no where close to fitting the top wheel. I measured the blade with a tape thinking it was swapped out by mistake but it all checks out. I understand there is some leeway on length say 1-2" that can be tensioned out but this seems way too much. Am I missing something obvious here??? thanks in advance chris
pkinneb
Have you measured the blade to make sure it really is 93.5"? I would start there. Your saw doesn't have a riser block installed does it?
Chet
I would take some string and run it around both wheels, mark where the string meets and then lay it out on a flat surface and measure the length. That should get you started on what size blade you really need for your saw.
gee-dub
Chet is on target but, I too wonder about the riser; that would bring you to about 105".

Chris b
yep, the riser block. I should have caught this. I just measured one of my other blades to see how it compared to the new blade and its 105"-ish thanks!
wdwerker
A broken blade might be easier to measure. But 105 sounds about right.
Brendon_t
105" with a 6" riser on the typical 14"
