Popular Post Mark J
I went to The Woodworking Show last weekend in Milwaukee and was pleasantly surprised to see that General and Excalibur power tools are back from bankruptcy under new ownership. As I understand it from the rep at the show, the newly reconstituted company is now headquartered in the USA (sorry Canada) and manufacturing is in Vietnam (not sorry China). Seems to be the same/similar line up of products, at least the Excalibur router table and lift seem to be back unchanged. Anyway, more choice is good. www.general.ca www.excaliburpowertool.com
Chet
When I was in the market for a router table set up and after I was done doing the research, I was all set to buy there router table setup with the cast iron top but by the time I had made my decision they had gone kaput. Chestnut
Vietnam, hope quality control isn't an issue. Only good thing I'll say about china is they can manufacture a good product if the companies invest in QA/QC. Vietnam is a complete unknown. Popular Post Mark J
I think product quality depends more on the company than the country.
Coop
Wouldn’t it be nice if we brought it all back here and eliminated the overseas crap? Times are a ticking.
BillyJack
Seems a lot if tools are back from the dead or heading that way. Instead of buying the common saw, they want something odd.
