davestanton
This is the short version, 4 minutes, for people who can't spare 9 minutes. Thanks for the responses TerryMcK and TimWood.

tim0625
Good video tour Dave. We haven't seen you for a time but obviously you've been busy with work AND the shop. Well thought through on the shop. I personally especially like the supporting tables all around the table saw.

Tpt life
Signatures do not show in mobile. For anyone reading this just go to the full web version of the forum and you will see signatures.
tim0625
That's a good idea Dave. I've thought of building a drill press table about 4" thick - using the same manifold idea just sucking it down instead of up but seeing your idea and with it being as easy as it is, I may go that route.
davestanton
A little off topic. One of my youtube clips went viral! 2.5 million hits in 3 days. Shame it was just me washing my dog, not a woodworking video...... Here is the link if you want to see it. In the meantime, I am still doing random clips but can't get the quality that Marc does. He is a natural! I have built a kind of docking station/mft3 hybrid thing as well. Will post about it soon.

bushwacked
But with all the money YouTube is paying you now for that video you can buy all stuff like Marc
davestanton
No idea how much it is worth but not as much as people think. I don't do it for the money. I just enjoy it. But,,,, if they want to give me a couple of dollars, a new jointer would be sweet.

chrisphr
Great music choice. You got 4.2 million hits because it demonstrates mutual vulnerability and dependency that is so natural and desirable. Love the video, and shop! davestanton
Here is a link to my latest addition that I built for my shop. It is a multifunction bench that houses all of my screw boxes, the Kreg foreman and my trimmer. Hope you like it! Nearly forgot.... its mobile as well. Important for small and big shops alike. tim0625
Nice video Dave. You're using the same type of top for all of the horizontal surfaces in your shop. It has a nice clean, professional look. Is this a particular design of formica that you glue to mdf or do you buy it premade?
davestanton
Hi Tim. I buy it from laminex industries pre-made. Exactly the same method as when I was building homes for a living, except that now I build the cabinets underneath instead of asking a kitchen company to do it. I tried making my own tops and to be honest, it is cheaper to have them made than my mucking around with getting all the materials, trying to form the laminate over the double rounded edges and so on. I simply design, measure up and then fill in the details and scan it, email to the company and go and pickup a couple of weeks later. About 30 years ago I used to make solid timber benchtops for a living so its not as though I can't do it, I choose not to.
