Electric595 Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Hello every one! My name is Gil and I live in California (East Bay looking at the Sacramento River) 20 min to the wine country. I have just got a chance to restart what I like "WOODWORKING" I got a few basic tools in my shop and just started to review the Roubo workbench plans to start off as my first build since I retired. Looking forward to having my Grandkids over to pass on what my dad gave me in shop skills as they do their wood projects with my oversight. Quote
RichardA Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Welcome, and there a number of us old farts on here. This is a great place to learn, you'll like the bunch here! Quote
TerryMcK Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Hi Gil welcome to the forum. The Roubo plans (from The Woodwhisperer Guild) are superb. A lot of woodworkers on the forum have made that one. Quote
wtnhighlander Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Hi Gil! Welcome to the forum. You are sure to find helpful and friendly folk around here. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your projects! Quote
Chet Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Welcome to the forums Gil. I might be one of the "old farts" that Richard referenced, although I am not sure how old you have to be to be old. I am south of you in San Jose, CA. Quote
Immortan D Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Welcome! Everyone here is full of life. Whatever that means. Quote
Brendon_t Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Hey Gil, welcome. That bench build is quite an undertaking for a first build. There are quite a few great build journals on here in the guild build section. Quote
