Flat Tooth Grind Blade

It's Saturday evening so I can't call my blade sharpening guy until Monday to ask this.

Can a blade be sharpened to a FTG or is it better to buy one already sharpened that way? I've got a cheap blade that could be used for this as an experiment or just go for a decent new blade.

I've been using a 48t blade for all tasks on the table saw but have been playing with a jig for finger joins and realised the blade is an ATB blade (am I using that right?).

I'm pretty sure an ATB (alternate top bevel) blade can not be sharpened to a FTG (flat top grind) profile, there is just not enough carbide to accomplish that, go with a new blade with a FTG also called a ATB with a raker (flat tooth). 48 teeth would be OK for most work IMO, less if you are dealing with thicker wood.
