Chestnut
That looks awesome. I love the look of the QS sycamore with the sapele. She is lucky to have such an awesome gift from her grandfather. 1
Chip Sawdust
Indeed, a very nice creation, practical, beautiful and something she will cherish for life, whether she stays in the sewing hobby or not.

RichardA
Oop's, but I'd bet Lucy would like something made by Granpa just as much as the 11 year old. Still a damn nice job.

Thanks Drew but i feel like i'm the lucky one to have lived this long to see them all become good, caring human beings, and with a little luck maybe some of them will be woodworkers to carry on the tradition.
Chet
Thats a nice detailed box. The inside compartments are well planned. 1 hour ago, treeslayer said: with a little luck maybe some of them will be woodworkers to carry on the tradition. I have done woodworking projects with all four of my grandkids. But it seems the youngest one is maybe the one that it will stick with. She wants to go out to the shop anytime they come over and she asks some pretty detail questions.

Coop
Dave, I’m impressed. Well, I shouldn’t be as all of your projects are top quality. Great design and choice of woods. Does Jan sew and if so, was she implemental in the design work?

She picked out the size, I think it’s 12 wide, 7 deep and 7 high, the rest she left up to me.
treeslayer
I forgot to mention the top is a floating panel of QS Sycamore that got a coat of chestnut trans-tint dye mixed with shellac then sanded to pop the grain a little.
