Has Charles Neil Woodworking gone out of business?

I ordered some of their pre-stain conditioner online at the end of November 2020.  They took my money and sent out a confirmation that my order was placed, but since then I have heard nothing.  They have not responded to my emails or telephone calls.  

 

I have a feeling they are sort of a digital ghost ship, still plowing the waters of the interwebs but with no crew.

 

I would really prefer the product rather than a refund, but at this point it isn't looking good.

Same happen to me. The website is open they took my money they answer that it is in the mail but you never get it. I wish I would have enough power to shutdown that website. Same story.  Ordered Blotch control Sealer 6/2/21.  Charges were processed immediately via PP.  left 2 messages 2 weeks apart.  no answer to either.  I did get an email message to complete a order that I started in mid-June that I had second thoughts about and did not place the order, so someone is there still trying to stimulate "business".

It seems like the banks would try to get their money back on fraudulent claims.  Maybe they do something I don't know. If banks don't have power I don't know who does.

Seems same has bitten me. However I did not know he had passed until I researched this week. The website is still open n accepting orders. Placed one last month and received my order of 8qts in a weeks time so I had  no idea something was wrong. Now trying to trace an Order placed on 7/14 and all I get is crickets!

I have a project half completed and am now in trouble as no ones blotch control works like Neils!

I too would rather have product but will have to contact PayPal .

if someone behind website knows formula I’d be open to purchasing it and continuing his legacy for the product. I’m that impressed with it.

The CN formula for blotch control is very similar if not the same as what Marc outlines in this video. If you need a replacement try this.

As with all finishing make sure to do test boards or test on inconspicuous spots before you go after your critical project parts.

My solution to blotching is to never apply a color coat.  It is interesting to see, though, that the clear coat also benefited.

We have had a similar experience.  They took our money and never delivered.  They do not respond to emails and the phone number seems disconnected?  Our money was already withdrawn from our bank.  

We ferl as if our hands are tied.

Has anyone reported this business and, if so, to whom?

Hi guys, I'm Neil's granddaughter, and I wanted to help make everyone aware that we cannot gain control of the website anymore to shut it down. I did update Google to let them know the business is closed, but if you submitted an order, pleass just file a dispute with your financial institutions. Granddaddy did pass away on 12/21/2019, and my grandma Sherri had passed earlier that year, and she was the one who ran the website for the most part.

 

I found this post by chance as I am looking to probably sell a piece he made my mom.

Best of Luck.    Can the website be edited?  We currently have two that can't because the software they were made with is no longer supported.  We're in the process of changing them to another platform, but it's more work than we currently have time for.

If it is like my website the host pulls automatically once a year from my bank account.  If Charles Neil still has an existing bank account and this is the way the website was set up the site could stay up for quite a while.

The simplest thing might be to move the URL holder to another host.  Start one of the new hosts website creation tools to make a simple page to tell the current state.  It won't cost much.  You only need an EPP code to transfer from one holder to another.

If there is any way to change all the videos to a high definition format, you should be able to generate an income stream from the videos.  They're good ones, but the old, low res format is enough for today's viewers to turn away.
