Popular Post gee-dub
We all get those quicky requests now and again that don't really involve a lot of fine furniture building skills. Still its nice to be able to spend a couple of hours and provide things for our loved ones. New grandson requires an early start to his college fund. The parents have a Cowboy theme going in the nursery. A scrap of cherry, some walnut scrap left over from some resawing for another project and a cork from an old spice jar. The money slot is at the back of the ear where it meets the head.

Eric.
Goes to show how even simple projects can be done well. I know it's not an accident how you ended up with that grain on the walnut. And it's perfect.
Chet
Very nice, that is a great looking bank. Is grandma and grandpa making the first deposit?

Eric.
Did you make it like a bandsaw box or with router and template?
gee-dub
Like a bandsaw box. One thing I learned on this one is, the next one will have curve radii with the spindle sander and router table in mind :-)

But it looks cooler this way IMO. Worth the effort? Maybe, maybe not.

Gary
That's a really cool bank, but if I wake up with one of those in my bed, does that indicate a big problem?? Just wondering.

wtnhighlander
Laying out the grain orientation that well from "scraps" is the mark of a master. Well-done!
