Popular Post Tom King
Today is my Mother's 102nd Birthday. She's still doing great, living by herself, making all of her own decisions, no health issues, and hasn't changed much in years. I went over to visit her this morning. The Church ladies are throwing a surprise Lunch for her today, at a restaurant in what used to be my Grandfather's General Store. I hope to have a picture to post later this evening.

collinb
Congrats to her. My Dad's dad made it to 102 (1885-1988). American history seems brief when you know folks of such an age.

Popular Post Tom King
I didn't end up getting many pictures. I was sitting at the other end of a long table, with probably 35 people there, and I was only using my phone. Here is one of her blowing out the candles. There weren't 102 of them, but probably 50 singles on top of a tray of cupcakes. She was able to blow them all out with one breath. She said she maybe could have done more, but that they would need to be closer to her. A good time was had by all. There was much laughter, and talking, but the room went silent, and pens, paper, and napkins were grabbed by all the women when she offered up how she made her "secret" cakes. All the women were surprised that there weren't any unusual ingredients in those cakes.
Coop
Fantastic Tom. Shoot, I can’t even take a breath in one breath, much less blow out 4 dozen candles.
Tom King
She said having a gap between her front teeth helps. She's a hoot! She still has all her teeth, never had a cavity, and I don't think has ever been sick a day in her life. The other lady in the picture, with the glasses, having a hard time believing stuff my Mom can do, lives in a house I built in 1983. She wasn't the original buyer, but has lived there for a good while. Several other people there today live in houses I built a good while back.
