I may talk to the old shop and get there old 60" sanding belts and make the discs... The splice rotted after a very long time. The belts load up if you try to remove varnish. Stay with raw wood and you will be amazed how long it lasts. BillyJack Posted January 10, 2020 Author Report Share Posted January 10, 2020 Put a new plug on the sander today and runs fine. Looking for a top but will probably make one. I will probably give the Harbor Freight 6x48 belt a try. Less than $4 it might be ok.... seems like the 12" discs are a bit expensive... Cleaning the sander is a bit of a task.
