Popular Post gee-dub Posted June 4, 2024 Author Popular Post Report Posted June 4, 2024 If you do a lot of Greene and Greene this router bit is great. This one happens to be from Whiteside but, others make them. It cuts a round over or a chamfer on the top and bottom of an edge for various thicknesses of material. Here I am doing an 1/8" round over on the top and the bottom in one pass. This allows me to cut from a little before half way, downhill to the end, and then flip the piece and do the same the other way. Curves across grain and reversing grain scenarios are no problem. If you do much of this work I would check them out. I get a strange ego boost out of putting the final coat of finish on a piece and having just a little bit of finish left having estimated pretty well. . . is that weird? This is Transtint mahogany brown with some black added using DNA as a carrier. The Peruvian walnut looked really dark when wet but warmed to a chocolate brown as it dried. LOML wants almost black so I will add a bit more black and do a second coat. 5 Quote

Popular Post gee-dub Posted June 21, 2024 Author Popular Post Report Posted June 21, 2024 Well, finally . . . The remodel has all LED lighting so I am getting some odd coloration in the pics. Overall it is correct and gives you the idea. Since my legendary skills as a photographer are clearly demonstrated I will just mention; - the floating panels on the sides of the dressers are book matched - the drawer fronts have continuous grain left to right - the Peruvian walnut pulls came out nice and dark so LOML is happy Time for some night stands and a headboard. 9 Quote
Von Posted June 21, 2024 Report Posted June 21, 2024 Very nice! I do like the handles in contrast to the drawer fronts. Quote

Popular Post gee-dub Posted June 22, 2024 Author Popular Post Report Posted June 22, 2024 Thanks everybody. The color differences (not as intense as in the pics) should blend in and get happy in a month or so. Even though I re-sanded everything prior to finishing the parts done at one point and the parts done several weeks later still show it. I used to stress about this and certainly would if I were delivering to a client. Since it is for me and I know the cherry will get homogenized and happy I am good with it. 4 Quote
