rodger.
Well I finally made a decision for replacing my busted dewalt 618. I went with the Bosch MR23EVS kit, and also bought the template adaptor and kit. Looking forward to making some dust with it. Look for a review soon! TimberMagic
Getting a new router is such a great feeling. As I mentioned on a router table post, I have 4 routers (two have plates for use in my router table), and want two more (Festool), as well as the Festool router table. Routers to me are like clamps -- you can never have enough.

wdwerker
I might be past that point, especially if I count half dead routers I keep to cannabilize parts from ! Hell Ive got 4 - 3 hp routers, 2 plunge and 2 big Porter Cable ones. One of those predates the 7518 and it still runs great.
Tom King
I don't even know how many I have, and probably would forget some if I tried to count them from memory.
tim0625
Hey Steve....I STILL HAVE 2 of the old Craftsman routers that work fine! 1/4" collets, and I think 1 3/4 HP and the old spin ring to adjust the depth. I'm a little partial to my 1617 but they still work great.
EdG
Still confuses me why Bosch didn't bring their new 23EVS to market with a standard base that would accept PC type bushings without the need for an adopter. I have their 1617 and love it Except for the adopter requirement.
mikem
Probably because PC is in direct competition with bosch when it comes to routers. I ended up putting a base plate on one of my bases that accepts PC type bushings.
rodger.
I was bit perturbed by this as well. I didn't want to shell out more cash to buy into their proprietary system. But now that I have, I really like quick change bushings - def worth the cost! The adaptor was 8 dollars, and the whole collection of bushings (with a threaded adaptor for PC bushings) was 30 dollars. I'll include it in my upcoming review. Routers to me are like clamps -- you can never have enough. Reminds me of an old episode of New Yankee Workshop. Kevin is helping Norm with a project and they need a different router bit. Kevin asked where the wrenches were and Norm replied "Kevin we don't change bits we chage routers" while pointing at his shelf of 2 dozen routers. I worry how long Tom, Norm and the gang will be able to carry on with 'This Old House'. The bright side would be seeing the seasons I missed growing up but that can always wait. Congrats on the new edition to the family, Pug.
