What took many hours to achieve in aligning the old Craftsman was reduced to 30 minutes on the Ridgid. With the master plate I got it to 2/1000 over 10".

And because the Ridgid is a Steel City (is also a Craftsman) I just ordered the riving knife from Sears. $23ish. Perfect fit.

Only drawback (to me, at the moment) is the granite top. All I did was tap it with a rubber mallet. About an inch from the corner. And not hard. Didn't take much. I think the same saw also came with a cast top. If I could find one of those cheap (assuming for argument's sake that it would fit) I might consider a swap. Our counter top takes more wear than that and is undamaged.

Have not done anything with wood for a long time now. Had a death in the family followed by some illness. But the near future is looking good for finishing the hall table project begun earlier in the spring.

Forgot to mention ...

The fence that was found on CL for me ... It was off a Steel City and so fit perfectly.

Being a patient shopper ...

Dado insert with the Ridgid name

https://www.amazon.com/Ridgid-10-inch-Replacement-Throat-AC31DG1/dp/B00F3BJ354

but look at the part number variant.  That's Ryobi.

Significant price drop by looking at the variant (thank you private labelling)

So, in the near future ...
