wtnhighlander
Wow, that's awesome! Have to ask, how many gallons of glue did it take?
Coop
Allen, you knocked it out of the park! Great job!

h3nry
Looks awesome!Earlier you mentioned your concerns about wood movement ... can you explain what you ended up doing? Does that huge dovetail slide like some kind of bread-board end to take up the movement of 7ft of end-grain against the apron?

allencrane
@wtnhighlander I used about 2 gallons of Titebond II throughout. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
allencrane
@h3nry All 4 aprons are mortised around a 3/4" X 3/4" tenon in the top. The dovetails are actually just a decorative element. The corners are mitred, with WeldWood resin epoxy. I'm also considering further reinforcing with pocket hole screws from the underside. I know I haven't completely controlled (or even allowed) for wood movement, but I'm also counting on the fact that the walnut slabs I used were designed for countertops, and are really cured. We'll see... Feel free to offer suggestions! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
h3nry
Feel free to offer suggestions!I've got nothing to offer - heck the square footage of that table is bigger than my workshop - it still looks awesome.
