Popular Post ..Kev
Since my shop is kind of down right now without decent DC, I decided to try my and at a cabriole leg. I'd never done one before and knew that the bulk of the shaping would be done by hand after it came off the bandsaw. If this were for an actual piece, I'd of spent quite a bit more time shaping and sanding but, this was just a time killer in the shop.. Glued up a couple pieces of scrap 8/4 and built a template to fit the block. Cut it out on the bandsaw Then about an hour with spoke shaves and rasps Some sanding and tossed a little finish on it just to see..

Popular Post Coop
Not too shabby! I'm also impressed at how well it stands by itself! The fourth pic kind of looks like the leg on the leg lamp of Christmas Story?.

treeslayer
great work Kev, your first try looks better than my 10th ( if i ever tried one that is) i like downtime in the shop once in a while, gives me the opportunity to try new joint, techniques, ect.
