Popular Post gee-dub
I resaw some leopard wood and rough mark out parts for the inner frame. I glue up some peruvian walnut. The inlay will hide the seam on the front and the rabbet will disguise it on the rear. Mill them into blanks I do larger rabbets like this on the tablesaw. I use part of a panel raise bit to make this profile. I use a miter gauge and a stop block for picture frames. This gives me a real consistent result. Same for the outer frame parts. Here's the idea of the inlay. And the inner frames with some finish. Combined you get something like so. It is hard to get a good pic of this material as it reacts a lot with the light source. But, you get the idea. I just need to cut the glass and mount the pics.
