Yupyup. You doing a slide it bobbin/spool type that slides out but presents them vertically?

We're getting dangerously close to talking about sewing here ;)

She has a long arm so, has an absolute massive amount of that stuff and chose to store them standing in a drawer..  They got some topper thing that holds the spools and bobbins together so that they together and stand nicely.  If that doesn't work, I'll end up building something special for them.

Following. I’ll be building something similar for my wife next year after we move.

Building a new house and the same thing will be needed for the wifes Longarm and sewing/cutting tables. Seems to be quite a few woodworkers married to quilters around here.

Free plans over on my website if you want them..

In the spirit of woodworking, we're still on building stuff.

I'll bet this very ask from a wife gets asked of members often and it's a big undertaking.

If you wanna talk about sewing though... I did just upgraded my machine...

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know poop about sewing!

This desk design is directly from my wife.  We spend a lot of time with blue tape on the floor to lay it out and then a bunch more time at the computer to design the cabinets based on her storage needs.

She's actually going to keep the old desk and dedicate it to another machine that she has.  I'll just need to build a solid insert for it.  I'll also probably build a new base for it.

The desk looks great!  I don't want my Wife to see it.

My Wife doesn't do quilting, but probably anything else to do with fibers, and fabric.  At least you didn't have to build a shop with a pit, like I did back when my Wife decided to start a boat cover business, and sail repair shop.  With a pit, the whole floor becomes the table for the sewing machine. She quickly had more work coming in than she could do with the canvas work, but then our children got older, and required her time.  That shop is now one of the storage buildings here.

There is a new quilting business a few miles from our place, on River Road, in a new building they built specifically for that.  They have classes, but I think it's become more of a club where the ladies hang out.

Well, she's got enough space to have a few friends over but, nothing (hopefully) nothing on a large scale..

I googled it to see if it had a name.  I found other stuff like that the group has a name-  Lake Gaston Piecemakers Quilt Guild

There is not a lot of population here, but the number of retired people grows every year, so this has really taken off.

Just now, Chet said:

My wife wants you all to know that she is never, ever, ever going to burden me with building anything for her that revolves around sewing. :P

Did I mention that I'm coming back your way Chet? ;)
