Popular Post treeslayer
My daughter put me in for the Honor Flight to Washington DC, i decided to go after much thought and after i learned that i could honor my father a WW2 vet by taking the flag that was on his casket and his picture to be pushed in a wheel chair to the WW2 Memorial to honor him. it was the experience of a lifetime, everything was taken care of, food, water, bus right to the monuments and memorials and large crowds of people waving flags and thanking us everywhere we went. these are just some of the pictures of an experience that i will never forget, and as a surprise my daughter that nominated me to go was there as my guardian and was with me on the whole trip, one guardian was assigned to every 3 vets to take care of their every need as several were in wheel chairs, God bless America
Coop
Congratulations Dave on your nomination. What an honor! I bet that was a wonderful experience. Thank you and other veterans for your service as we go into this weekend to honor troops who had given their lives in service to our country!

Mark J
That's a great story, Dave. My father went ten years ago and had a wonderful experience. It really is a fantastic organization. I think they may now do trips for Korean and Vietnam vets, too.
legenddc
That’s so great you got to go. My son was just asking about going. We might swing by some of the monuments soon when it’s a bit quieter.
treeslayer
Yes it’s open to Korea and Vietnam vets, and it’s a great organization, everything was taken care of from start to finish with no details missed
Popular Post Coop
As I understand it, Honor Flights are funded by individuals like ourselves and not by government subsidies. I haven’t heard of this organization until now and think it’s a really neat deal to honor our veterans. My wife and I have signed up as annual contributors to this great event. Give it some thought.
