Popular Post Just Bob
I have been mutilating nice pieces of wood for almost 40yrs, but I have never had a dedicated shop so I could really screw it up. The shop started as a "roof structure" (county's name) for a p.o.s. single wide trailer. We demolished the trailer and found the roof to be really well built. The county made me jump through a few minor hoops to keep it, but it turns out if you pay the county money they can be pretty reasonable. So here it is. The foot print is 70'x18' x11' 6" Except for the concrete pour and hanging the garage doors I did all of the work by myself, which is why is took a little over a year to get it to this point. This is where it started, and the plan. After 33 yds of gravel and a couple of days later the pour. Since the roof is the "structure" I did 2x6 studs on 32" centers, and then put girts on 24" centers for the siding. OSB sheathing, building wrap and shop siding to finish. Did the electric, insulated the walls and then more OSB. I still have a little insulation, finish the storage room and plumbing left to do. I didn't take any in-between pictures, just too tired to care. Here is where TIODS showed up. Outside: More to come.

Just Bob
From the garage end looking towards the shop: Yea that is Marc's wood rack. Into the shop, I brought this bench from my last house. It is and always will be a utility bench, I did everything from wood working to engine rebuilds on it. I had to use my tractor to move it in, so it got racked badly, it's wood working days are over. And here is the rest of my shop. Table saw and HF DC, I wired and built a space for a cyclone, but that is going to have to wait for a couple of pay checks. The miter saw/router station and tool storage The other wall and it looks like it will take one more post to finish this.
Just Bob
Last of the tour, other end of the shop looking back at the garage. I am now in need a work bench a few tweaks. But I really have run out of excuses (honey I need a shop before I do that) has apparently dried up.

Just Bob
Thanks everybody. Wow! Awesome shop Bob! And is that a woodburning stove in the corner?? I salvaged the wood stove from the trailer. It is the shop's only source of heat. I may have to add an electric heater but I am hoping that once I am done with the insulation it is good enough. Nice, I love the never ending miter station. Yea I am kind of tickled with that too. Looks great Bob. What type of windows did you use and are you happy with them? I'm planning to put something similar in my shop and I'm looking for ideas. I wish I could tell you, the windows are from the trailer.
