I guess I will be remaking the end cap. This is gonna be tricky getting the bolt holes lined up, but I should be able to do it. I could epoxy it and call it good, but it would bother every time I see it. Epoxy it and move on.. Just be sure to get epoxy down in there! In the grand scheme of thing, you'll never see it and the epoxied fix will be plenty strong for this instance.
Chet
I think I am with Kev on this. Trying to line up new holes can end up being way more aggravating and time consuming than thinking about the fact that you have a little epoxy in the project. Popular Post MattF
It’s been a while, but finally getting back to the Roubo. Got the front laminate strip glued up today. Have some gaps on the tails, but I can live with it. Will probably end up filling with epoxy.

Slammed at work, camping with the family and other projects around the house. Shop got pretty messy with all those things going on. Finally mustarded up the energy to get it cleaned and organized last weekend. Hoping to keep it that way and keep trucking in the bench. Goal is is to have the tail vise installed by end of the day tomorrow.

Popular Post MattF
Got the tail vice installed today. Router walked a little on me, but I got her back in line. Took a video of the movement but can’t post it. I consider this a milestone. Hoping to keep the wind in my sails now that I have started back on this project.

Had to get some tooling design work completed for work, meat on the smoker and the complete waste of time super bowl.

Popular Post MattF
I havent updated this in a while, but much progress has been made due to being shutdown. I am fortunate in the fact that I can work from home, counting my lucky stars on that. With no commute and no where to go, shop time has increased significantly. Leg vise has been fitted, tested and completed Base is complete. Laid out mortise locations for the slabs yesterday and hope to cut those this afternoon.

Hard to get actual work done when I am sitting on the other side of the wall from the bench. I just want to get out there and keep going. So close to the finish line.
Chestnut
My shop door is within arms reach of my work at home desk. I've been using my "15min" breaks to glue on edge banding or other quick tasks to make what i'm working on in the evening go that much faster. It's a nice break.

During conference calls I come out and do small things like router setup etc etc. I will say I am getting alot of shop time with this working from home and stay at home order. That order just got extended to May 4th.

MattF
Slabs on the base and attached. Tops flattened. I was pretty nervous setting this up. Worked out great though. Have some tools marks to clean up, but turned out nice and flat. Get a puppy they said, it will be fun they said. Meet Albert Chop trimmed and on the bench. Still got some shaping to to do. Was a very productive weekend.
RichardA
Is Albert going to be the shop's house mouse? Nice job on the bench. You're goona love beating it up.
