TerryMcK
Does it still exist? I can't seem to find any information about the latest issue anywhere.
Mark J
I don't subscribe. But according to the web site they are still selling subscriptions. It's 6 or 7 issues per year so perhaps the most recent issue wasn't so recent.
JohnG
It does. I got a subscription a while back when they offered 2 years for $18. Haven’t found them as interesting or helpful as FWW, so now I mostly just flip through quickly to see if anything catches my eye.
RichardA
I got mine about a week ago, I think I'm near the end of my subscription, I won't be renewing....... To much advertising, and I haven't found one thing I'd want to build in their magazine.
Jfitz
I got mine recently as well - haven't read it yet. I'm debating renewing - I might renew just the print version, since I enjoy actually flipping through the magazine - but they changed their electronic/online version to delivery through some app (Zinio) which I find terrible so at a minimum I won't be renewing any sort of online access. I agree on the content - it's not just something I find all that useful anymore. I think it's gone in a different direction since the shakeup they had a while back. JohnG
Hmm, I don’t think I’ve received the April issue yet. Though I also haven’t checked the mail in days.
Chet
Yea, I let my subscription go a while back. I found the stuff just too basic for me anymore. I am down to just Fine Woodworking now.
TerryMcK
I’m just a collector of woodworking magazines in pdf format. I have years of PW them all 2000 up to October 2018. Also a few pre 2000 issues. I noticed a steep drop in quality of PW since Schwarz and Megan left. So not too bothered anymore. I just thought it had gone to the wall when I couldn’t find it easily. Fine woodworking is one I do still subscribe to and have every issue from #1. That really makes my OCD woodworking magazine collection complete. “Tools and shops” is the annual issue I look forward to. Always nice seeing other peoples shops.

When they switched to Zinio I decided to not renew since I couldn't get the PDFs any more and that broke my OCD collecting impulse. To each their own of course, but I found the major decline in interesting (to me) material dated back to the departure of Bender, Huey and Lang (shame they couldn't make a go of 360 Woodworking), not the more recent departures. Chip Sawdust
I subscribed to PW last year but like others I find its utility limited for me. Doubt I’ll renew. I did receive my print issue recently I get FWW (best in the business imho) and Wood. Wood is ok but if I had to choose only one I’d drop it and keep FWW. Taunton also sells superior quality books and plans. I’ve bought several.
Popular Post Isaac
I listened to a recent FWW podcast with Mike P. He made a great point. Most of the woodworking magazines look for various projects to fill each issue, trying to hit a certain level of complexity or so. FWW Doesn't take that approach. They are in touch with many top furniture designers around the world, and they find out what these top designers are already doing, and look to see if documenting their build would make a good piece for the magazine. So it is not just coming up with pieces to fill a magazine. It is documenting pieces already being made by masters. I think that is why FWW pieces consistently have the little nuances and details we all come to appreciate. Things you can’t always put your finger on initially, but which reward careful examination.
