It came like that inside the original plastic package. I know it's not a big deal, but I'm afraid they won't have another one to replace it with. That is a dilemma. That won't affect the use, but you paid for a new tool. I would contact them to see if they have a replacement. If so, exchange it. If not, then keep it. 3 Quote
Ron Swanson Jr. Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 S That's disappointing. I would probably start with a nylon scouring pad, and see it if that doesn't remove it. Quote

I know it's not a big deal, but I'm afraid they won't have another one to replace it with. Where I live, with the ambient humidity, I have to constantly manage rust on my tools. I'd remove the rust with a light sanding or steel wool and then apply a light coat of oil or paste wax to help prevent it from coming back. 2 Quote
Popular Post Sergio Escudero Posted May 28 Popular Post Report Posted May 28 Well, it seemed very, very light. It came off with a rub of very fine steel wool and a little alcohol. It still looks weird because one line seems not to be blackened, but now it's fine. I'm going to keep it. Let's see if I buy some files and then I can sharpen the saws I have pending. 4 Quote
Popular Post gee-dub Posted May 29 Popular Post Report Posted May 29 I got a piece of triangle shaped glass for a flag case I have planned. I usually cut my own glass but didn't happen to have a piece large enough. I got a great suggestion on a forum that caters to military stuff. I bought a cheap flag case from Michael's that cost about what the glass would cost. Keep the glass and throw the vinyl veneered MDF case away. Win-win. 6 Quote

fcschoenthal Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 As long as you plan on making the case to the size of the glass, it is a win - win. 2 Quote
Popular Post Von Posted June 1 Popular Post Report Posted June 1 I'm going to call this 50% TAD - definitely a luxury. A few times I've wanted a transfer screw set and I've even made a few from bolts. Saw this set on ebay and succumbed. Now the question is: will I have the right size next time I need one? 4 Quote
gee-dub Posted June 1 Report Posted June 1 You will be happy to have them. I bought a few sets of dowel centers when they were closing down an Ole's Hardware store in town. I think I paid something crazy like 69 cents a set. I don't use them a lot but when that is what you need . . . they're perfect! 2 Quote

They screw in and leave a point sticking out to make an impression on whatever you need to drill matching holes in. The storage tube has a hex shaped opening that fits a corresponding shape around the point so you can use it as a wrench on the screw. 2 Quote
Popular Post pkinneb Posted June 3 Popular Post Report Posted June 3 Sold my Grizzly Oscillating Sander last night and the new Hammer Oscillating sander showed up today. I love it when a plan comes together On a side note the gentleman that came to buy it looked really familiar but I couldn't place him, turns out he bought a shooting plane and other hand tools from me earlier this year LOL. 5 1 Quote

Maybe you just need to make him your first call moving forward with things you have for sale. 2 1 Quote

You joke, but I have that agreement with several people that I've bought from. Most sellers would appreciate a quick sale with no listing problems and someone that isn't going to haggle. 4 Quote
Popular Post fcschoenthal Posted Friday at 05:27 PM Popular Post Report Posted Friday at 05:27 PM Case in point for buying my own birthday/father's day presents. KM Tools had their Temple Tools saws on sale for Memorial Day, so I pulled the trigger. I've had a couple of Suizan saws, but these are nicer still. 7 Quote
