JaredM
When I found out that I was going to be a daddy last year, I knew I'd have fun making all sorts of wooden projects for my little girl. First up was the nursery! My wife and I love nature and wanted to incorporate it into the room. I have seen a ton of trees painted on the walls or tree decals, but that was too ordinary for my taste. I thought I'd come up with something a bit more creative. Here is the result. 3 layers - oak base, walnut and maple for highlights. Leaves were cut out and then I carved the edges a bit and stained them green on one side and "autumn" on the other. They are held in place with bamboo skewers wrapped in florist tape. We can rotate the leaves to either green (spring/summer) or multicolor for Autumn (or I suppose remove them and throw them on the floor for winter ). Hope you enjoy! I had a good time making this. And even though my little one (now 9 months old) can't appreciate it yet, I'm sure she will eventually. Jared
