wouldwurker
I love the exposed kreg jig joinery. It's like leaving the scribe line on a hand-cut dovetail. The mark of a true craftsmans

davewyo
Nicely done! I particularly like the attention to fine details and the Grosso hardware. Is that from a FWW plan or is it one of your own designs?

Rapid Roger
Actually, I made this a few years ago for an "Ugly Box" contest....... I came in second. I got two demerits (#1 "It's too square" and #2 "The plywood top was obviously cut on a table saw instead of with a hand saw.") Well, like Momma always said, "Ya can't win them all." It's always something! Rog Actually, I can make a decent looking box from time to time. This one brought $70.00 at a silent auction a while back. Popular Post Rapid Roger
bgreenb and Daniel, Yes, I built the box using mitered corners with splines in the usual manner. Then I ran each side over the table saw blade at and angle like you do with any cove. It still required a lot of sanding to get the saw marks smooth. This was my third try with cove cutting. I made two more by cutting the cove first in the board before turning it into a box. These are urns so the tops are permanent and the bottoms are screwed on. wtnhighlander
Roger, how thick were those boards to start?
TerryMcK
Great work on the second and third boxes Rog. I see it was April Fools day yesterday when you posted the 1st one.
Rapid Roger
Roger, how thick were those boards to start? They were 3/4" thick. If you slowly work the blade up (1/6" at a time) you can remove 3/8" of material and still have a 3/8" thick wall on the box. Rog
bgreenb
Didn't even think of the table saw. Very clever!
