wouldwurker
Can anyone recommend from experience a good one suitable for one person? For green wood - felled trees 2-3 feet in diameter from the neighborhood to be cut into manageable chunks for turning bowls. Realized last night that trees are heavy. Who knew! Thanks all. Saw some neat ones on traditionalwoodworker, but really don't know what's good. Thanks all.
Tom King
Stihl MS250 is a good little saw.

wouldwurker
Something visceral about a big hand saw that I really dig

Guess I'd choose to keep my viscerals, you can have the handsaw Drop over to the Shannon's channel and see if he's got something..
Eric.
Yeah...cut through a few logs by hand and see how visceral you feel. If you want visceral start using your spokeshave that you sold your family cow for.

wdwerker
I remember helping my grandad sharpen and use a 2 man saw to cut up some storm damaged trees at our lake house. I was a teen and it was exhausting !
treeslayer
woodcraft and highland woodworking both have one man crosscut saws for logs vinnny and i have been tempted myself to get one then common sense kicked in
Tom King
I knew what you were asking for, but it didn't compute.
drzaius
Start a really skinny fire under the log where you want it cut & let it burn through. That's pretty visceral. If that doesn't work for you, I'm sure Collin could come up with something
Popular Post wtnhighlander
If you want visceral, tie a wrap of prima-cord around the log. Boom.

Gixxerjoe04
I've got a wood boss that's good for bowl blanks and firewood, been searching for a big one recently to start chainsaw milling stuff for myself. My buddy has a big husqvarna, we milled a few trees with it, decent amount of work involved but it's nice having a lot of wood after and doing the work ourselves. Of course it won't be ready for another year or so haha.
Gilgaron
I have cut down small trees with a bahco bow saw I got on Amazon. It worked well but you did well with a chainsaw for anything big
