I couldn't resist. I saw it and had to do it.

When these came out last year my son looked for one with Jacob on it at every store, couldn't find one, so he asked if he could change his name, he wanted Reuben.

Nothing like being named after a sandwich.  Goes well with soda.

It's crazy how bottled water has become a normal purchase. When I was a kid I would have laughed out loud if someone told me that people would regularly pay 2 bucks for a bottle of water.

If you had to drink the sewage that comes out of a midwestern industrial city...you might not be laughing so much.  I use tap water when I make coffee or I cook, otherwise I drink bottled water the rest of the day.  I order 5 gallon glass bottles from Mountain Valley and have them delivered every couple months.  Sounds ridiculous, but it's yummy water.  So good.  Tap water tastes like...I don't know...it's gross.  And who knows what's in it.

And most of them come right from the municipal water supply where the bottler is located.   There is nothing fancy or special about bottled water.  It's just a gimmick.

You know what EVIAN spelled backwards is right?  NAIVE.

That's not true.  There are certain bottlers that probably do that...I wouldn't trust anything from Coca-Cola company for sure...did you know they put chemicals in Dasani to make you THIRSTIER?!!?  Seriously.  Read the label.  Unbelievable.

I've never researched Evian, but Mountain Valley comes out of a spring in Arkansas.  It's supposed to be some of the purest water on earth, filtered by nature itself and full of minerals.  Check it out.

In any case, nothing is scarier than drinking the water that comes out of a municipal treatment plant.  God only knows what they put in that crap.  If I lived out in the middle of nowhere, I'd drink the water out of a well, no problem (assuming there's no fracking going on nearby).  But here in St. Louis?  No thanks.

Well, by law they have to disclose what the put in the water, so all you have to do is ask.

And most bottled water that comes from springs is augmented by municipal supplies.    Not all, but most.  And if you found a supplier that is truly a spring source, and it's tastier water, then good for you.  I won't argue that spring water is much better tasting.  It's probably just mental, but I will say the best water I ever had came straight from the side of a mountain at 13,000ft in the New Mexico.

And if your local water supply is so bad that you can't stand the smell of it, then that's something you should be actively pursuing with your local government.

My GF's family uses bottled water for everything that you ingest, as they have a well, and it literally stinks.  You can smell a glass of it from across the room.  But use enough soap and it doesn't stick to you when you shower.
