wtnhighlander
Thanks, Drew. Yes, the finish could be better. There are a couple of runs / sags around edges, that probably wouldn't have happened with a spray application. The paint actually leveled quite well after application with the foam brush, but the very flat sheen made it easy to miss a slight run or two. Fortunately, they aren't in prominent locations. As for the bead trim, I think I mentioned some trick for cutting the miter to fit, but not making the trim itself. It is just 1/4" strips ripped from 1" stock. Both edges of the front were routed with a 1/8" radius round-over, and the strips were glued onto the case and drawer front edges. To size the drawer front correctly, I stacked 2 scraps of the trim + the 1/8" thicknes of a combo square rule into the drawer opening, held the drawer front blank against all that and marked the opposite edge of the opening onto the front. Repeat for both directions, and out pops a perfect 1/16" reveal.
Chet
That came out really well Ross, especially considering it has a scrap pile project. Thats a nice looking color, was that GF milk paint?

wtnhighlander
@Chet, yes that is GF 'Milk Paint' in Gulfstream Blue. Looks as green as it can be to me, but they call it blue. Wife likes the fresh, clean look, but I think rubbing in some dark wax to emphasize the shadow lines and creating an aged patina would look great on this color.

wtnhighlander
Dave, the GF milk paint and High Performance are a good combo to paint in place. There was no odor that I could detect, at all. Wife is usually bothered by oil finishes for several days or weeks after they are cured enough to handle, she never even mentioned smelling this stuff.
