Ronn W
I would like to get an accurate steel straight edge (+- .002") about 24" long for a reasonble price. Where would you go if you needed one? Does ot need any marking on it - just a straight edge that does wobble laterally.
BillyJack
Would office Depot , etc have one. Otherwise I would go to the big box..

I checked and they have mostly rulers and they are pretty thin and flexible. Office depot is out of stack and Home Depot has aluminum. Thanks for the thought. Just Bob
Is this precision straight edge what you are looking for?

I am not sure I need a bevel edge. That one is more $$ than I was hoping. I will use it for tool alignment and to check flatness. gee-dub
The Veritas Steel Straight Edge has served me well for many years.

FWIW if you have prime you can get it at Amazon for the same price with free shipping.
roughsawn
At the risk of sounding like a cheapskate...I removed the rivets on a sheetrock square, disassembled it, and ended up with a short and a long straight edge. Cheap...lol
