Popular Post Hammer5573
I’ve been wanting to build a highboy for a while; however, I just didn’t think that I had the skills. So I decided to attempt a build and stop as soon as I screwed it up. As usual, I did a lot of preparation before starting, including watching David Boeff. Although I made a lot of mistakes, it turned out better than I thought. I need to get better at grain-matching the knee blocks for sure. I still have to apply the shellac finish and then the escutcheons . I didn’t want to photo it with the finish because I don’t like the look of shellac on cherry when it’s first applied.
Chet
I have been sucked in by this hobby for a few decades now and I still learn something on every project. You get the skills by jumping in with both feet. Having said that, that piece looks really, really good. Well done.

Ronn W
Lokking good. Are the fan, comun, captials and crown hand carved? I know what you mean about the knee blocks. ON the couple that I have done, the grain is vertical to match the legs. Nicely done, sir.

chashint
Well done sir. Judging from the block front cabinet and this highboy you have one heck of a bucket list and the skills to build anything your heart desires.
