Tpt life
I think the barb on the wire should pass light through if you can get a good fine cut.
duckkisser
the barbs are cut through if you saw it strait on you can see the light but because of the thinness of the cut and the angle you can see the light in it.

pdjms1
OK, showed my wife to get her opinion (because all my taste is in my mouth) and she thought it was very cool, which I also thought, but trust her opinion more than my own. I am not sure but you might try on one or two... since its a night light you might consider putting a few different sized holes in the top to make a "stars in the night sky" type of feel, or do like the big dipper or other well known constellations so that they show on the ceiling at night. I think you have a very cool design and this touch may not be needed but is something to think about. Great job!
wdwerker
If you tilt the scrollsaw when cutting those fine details you can open up the inside wider, but be careful to make all the cuts in the right direction. Nice looking scrollwork !

The constellation idea is cool as hell, but that also adds one thing that might be important. Venting.. Night lights don't produce a lot of heat, but any way to vent "any" heat out of the box would be welcome..... Great idea and project, Duck! wtnhighlander
Richard has a good point about heat. Consider using an led light source to reduce the heat produced.
Eric.
Very cool. I would use thinner boards for the panels, though...like 1/4" at the thickest.
Tom Cancelleri
Duck, you already know my thoughts. Battery powered remote controlled color changing candles. As we spoke about last night, I'm gonna take a crack at turning it and hand sawing it. I'll let you know what I come up with.

No, nothing like that, more like, music box, light music box, round lit music box, round lit music box that turns, projects and plays music lol
Coop
I'm thinking, put it on the nightstand beside the bed, put a one hour candle in it and don't stop till the candle goes out
