Immortan D
Look at the size of the throat. Maybe it will help driving long shavings out, you tell us. The LN fails to do so most of the time. What size is it? Medium or Large?
Llama
It's a large size. The HP-7 (next on the list) is 3/4", this one is 1 1/8" Here is a side by side to the HP-10 I have.
Dknapp34
I know BCTW tools are beautiful, but is there any benefit in terms of performance over, say, something from LN or LV? Not that looking awesome isn't reason enough to buy a tool, but I am curious, as I've never owned one.

You didn't go there LOL My problem with Bridge City Tools is they're too beautiful to use. A little too modern for my taste, but super cool and well-made. Just found out that Brese planes are made about an hour or so from me. Gonna try to get a tour if I can.
Llama
1 hour ago, Dknapp34 said: performance Hard to say... There is absolutely zero play in the mechanisms on any of the BCTW planes I have. The blade advance knob is very easy to use, and dial in to the smallest degree. The fit and finish is absolutely perfect on these tools. As for an advantage, I'm not sure. But here is what John E said. "Quality is contagious. Nothing is more important to a woodworker than his tools. If you owned a tool chest full of well-crafted tools, how could you possibly justify doing shabby work? You dishonor your tools, you dishonor yourself."

That's the best justification for buying boutique tools I've heard. Let me know when they go on sale half price.

These increase in value as time moves on. This one increased roughly 30% since new.
Woodenskye
Really nice Mel! I think I may have to save up for one. Just like the little engine that could "I think I can, I think I can"
