Popular Post ..Kev
Back in California and hanging out with Chet building a live edge coffee table with a waterfall end. Slab is Camphor which I've never worked with before. Shop smelled like Vics Vapor Rub Special thanks to Chet for allowing me to play in his shop! And, here's the journal..

Woodenskye
Kev, another build I'm going to have to follow along with. I really like the wood selection for this. When you had the samples for the Dutchman, I originally thought the paduak would be interesting, but after the sanding, the Ebony would look really good.

If Chet is a Master Apprentice, then Kev is truly a Master Journey-Man. It's nice that you're getting in some woodworking on the road, Kev! Chet's shop looks "well equipped". It's super nice that he is helping you keep busy, and as a bonus he's enabling my YouTube addiction. Keep the Vids coming!

Did you tape the top cracks and pour the epoxy from what will be the bottom of the piece? or vice versa?

I believe it was 120 Grit on the machine.. @Chet K please correct me if that's wrong.. As for the cracks, no, we taped the bottom and poured from the top.
Chet
Correct, it was 120. When I removed the tape from the back side there was a little touching up to do with the epoxy. That slab was thirsty epoxy wise.

Popular Post ..Kev
Here's what we settled out on for the base design. Thanks to @Chet K for the collaboration on the base! Here's the next video..
mat60
Like what you guys are doing with the base design and the top is looking good also. Your videos always seem to go by fast.
wdwerker
I would splay the three legs and have them land on a curved strip that echoes the curve on the top. Thanks for letting us follow along.

Thanks for letting us follow along. Thanks Steve! We actually looked very hard at that exact thing. Unfortunately, the width of the slab and the overall height of the table just didn't really allow for it. I do agree that would be an awesome look if we'd of had a little better circumstances. 35 minutes ago, mat60 said: Like what you guys are doing with the base design and the top is looking good also. I know I'll have one in July that's nearly 15 minutes long and I struggled with putting out something that long!
