Used my Festool Carvex jigsaw for all of the crosscuts, and bandsaw for all the rips. I used the tablesaw to sit the top on for the pics. Here is where we started... Walnut for the project, poplar to prototype the legs. Poplar leg. Actually a really pretty piece of poplar. 1/4 sawn poplar looks good Leg design is similar to the ones I made for the beds long ago. Layout for the legs. Notice the template on the side. These were the only two boards in the whole stack to have significant knots in them. Getting legs out of them was a challenge. I had a lightbulb moment... I can get the top and 1.5 legs out of the drop the other boards! Jackpot!! So, here is the top after cutting the leg stock out and a quick pass over the Felder. Notice the thickness is noted on the end grain of these boards. I'll let these move if they want, then re-machine them when I need the top. Legs... this is after a lot of thinking/planning/scratching. These are jointed on one face and edge to see if they're going to move before planing. Need to retain as much thickness as possible. Top laid out. I think this is going to be the layout. Again, rough milled to let them move if they want. What's left of my stash. Had some 10" boards, was so nice having the Felder to speed this up and not have to think of ripping boards in order to joint them.
