ghost
that'll work! the neighbors are a big part of how the HOA functions. just don't want to be where they take ruler to measure how long your lawn is! been there!
drzaius
That's a very nice looking house & a great shop space. I'm very envious of those with the fortitude to keep the cars out of the shop. But Calgary winters can be miserable & scraping ice/snow at 6:00 is just dreadful.
Mark J
Nice house. Strong work. Does this mean you'll change the "Marc's basement" tag line?

Llama
House has been painted! The yellow might need some changing in the near future, but it's nice!
wdwerker
The yellow isn't the problem, it's that olive green trim ! Of course opinions are like...... everybody has one & no one wants to listen !

We are finishing the basement, so we will have just under 4,000 sqft total living space. Shop will be right around 800 sqft if my math is right. Chet
Hey Mel, is that a window above the lathe? If so did you give any thought to putting your Roubo bench there so you would have the nice nature light on the bench.

No windows in the shop other than the ones on the garage doors, and a window on the door in the nook. I placed the Shaker bench in front of the smaller door so I can open that one when weather permits and I won't be advertising to the nosey neighbors that I have a shop. Maybe they'll see a bench, not my precious. (details on the precious to come)

We visited the house today because the paint went on, and we now have proper flooring in most of the rooms. Planning the interior is a bunch of fun! There are parts I don't care too much about, such as drapes and such... Just give me a place to rest and I'll be in the shop otherwise! I am planning a bunch of furniture for the new house. First of which will be a 4' round dining table for the kitchen area. Then a "formal" dining table for that space. Leaning towards a modern trestle design for that one. Should be fun! Then I'll build my Shaker bench the right way this time around.
Mick S
Beautiful house and a great shop space! I know you'll have a blast getting it all filled up and even more fun using it! After expanding my shop into the adjacent garage I now have pretty much the same space as your new shop. It's just right for me. Not cramped at all - just right. Congrats on the new home!

Cliff
I'm jealous. Been looking for 3 car garages in my area for the past few months. They don't come along often around here.
