Popular Post Chet
This was a simple box that I made for my niece's new baby girl. The inside and outside are Wenge the polka dots are Maple. I used box joints on the corners and the handle on the lid is also made of maple. I kind of got the idea from one of Matt Kenney's boxes in his book 52 boxes in 52 weeks. 8
Chestnut
I like it. I still need to go buy some wenge to give it a shot. Also it looks fantastic on that cherry sideboard. I realize it's not it's final home but it's a good stand to take pictures of small projects.

Popular Post RichardA
I made something like that once, but holes the shotgun blast made were not aligined enough. 1

I just made a new knife block for the wife, the old one is going to get the hollow point test before it goes in the garbage where it belongs

Brendon_t
Great box Chet. How did you prep the wenge to not absolutely blow out to all hell running those box joints? I've still got a few pieces in the smaller scrap bin but don't use it because of how terrible i remember it was to work.

I did the box joints on the router table. I have the Incra table that has the pattern setups for dovetail and box joints. I sandwiched the wedge between two pieces of scrap, a piece on the front and on the back, this helped a lot and I used new scrap on each set, a lot of extra work but it came out pretty well, but there were still a couple of spots I had to do a minor repair to. Brendon_t
Perfect. That's about the only way I could see doing it. I wouldn't do it, which is why I've got about 6 bf of it unused
