I used to have a 12" DeWalt. It took up a lot of room in my very space-limited shop and i wasn't using it much at the time, so i gave it to a friend, complete with the Kreg stop block system. BillyJack Posted November 19, 2023 Report Share Posted November 19, 2023 I bought two batteries from an Amazon. I have two Dewalt 12 XRP guns. The new XRP batteries from HD are $60+ each. The two from Amazon will charge, but don’t stay charged as long and won’t hold the charge if they sit in the shop unused. I recently just started looking in pawn shops for current guns to find deals. I think cordless screw guns, etc are about two year guns, sell and buy new ones. This way you ; keep current , warranted guns in the shop.. Tom King Posted November 19, 2023 Report Share Posted November 19, 2023 I bought a no name cheap Makita replacement battery off ebay. It had been in the charger for a while in the shop. I was close outside and started to smell a hot electrical issue. I went inside and the battery was starting to smoke. I grabbed a thick welding glove, pulled it out of the charger and tossed it out in the yard.
