UPDATE:

The code no longer seems to be working on the 12" but at the moment it does work on the 10".

*******

The 12" Bosch Axial SCMS is on sale at Acme for a very surprising $449 w free shipping.

Use the code BOSCHSAVINGS at checkout.

Pretty good deal. I'm wavering on pulling the trigger myself...

I've always admired the Bosch and thought it looked really nice.

I used to have a 12" DeWalt. It took up a lot of room in my very space-limited shop and i wasn't using it much at the time, so i gave it to a friend, complete with the Kreg stop block system.

Fast fwd several years to today and i really wish i hadn't done that.

So i may very well run down to Acme tomorrow and pick one.

Just be aware that's a knock-off battery, not a Makita brand. Might not want to leave it on the charger unattended.

Loads of cordless tool deals going on right now and a lot of people are buying kits and splitting it up. My father in law picked up a brand-new Dewalt 4.0 battery for $40 on Facebook last week.

This will depend on the generation of charger you have. Most are now in control of charging. As long as the battery passes the digital handshake test to charge, the base will stop after current draw reaches a time or low state.

I bought two batteries from an Amazon. I have two Dewalt 12 XRP guns. The new XRP batteries from HD  are $60+ each. The two from Amazon will charge, but don’t stay charged as long and won’t hold the charge if they sit in the shop unused. I recently just started looking in pawn shops for current guns to find deals.

I think cordless screw guns, etc are about two year guns, sell and buy new ones. This way you ; keep current , warranted guns in the shop..

I bought a no name cheap Makita replacement battery off ebay.  It had been in the charger for a while in the shop.  I was close outside and started to smell a hot electrical issue.  I went inside and the battery was starting to smoke.  I grabbed a thick welding glove, pulled it out of the charger and tossed it out in the yard.  That finished me with knock off batteries.
