Popular Post Brendon_t
Got a call last week from an arborist friend who was getting paid to remove 2 walnut trees, one English walnut tree and another thick something tree. He offered me the trunk pieces if I wanted them. Umm yeah sure. I guess i can help a homie out. He cut the first walnut trunk for me today. Picked it up after work. Not bad for a case of natty.

Brendon_t
Sure will. I'm headed to a business thing tonight so it'll have to stack tomorrow. I really haven't had any time to even look through it. The trunks were very clean with no junk so hopefully the wood is clean

He called me because he knows I love walnut and told him to be on the lookout. It is non native to southern California so we hardly see it. It fluctuates a lot, but 9.15 is still cheaper than I can get it here in upstate NY on most days, and we have tons of walnut trees around. Cletus wood especialle.. this stuff is WET. Got a bit of it stacked, I'm going to go back after everything is cut and remove the bark edges but for now, I just wanted to get them layed out and strapped down. Eric.
Hate to make you break that stack down again but I'd replace any of those non-walnut stickers with walnut stickers. We were just talking the other day about sticker stain and how much it sucks. Not worth the risk IMO. Nice haul. You're lucky you live in the desert and you'll actually be able to use that stuff in this lifetime. If I had a stack in my backyard it would be termite-infested and I'd be bent over and shriveled by the time it was dry enough to work.
