B1rdhunter
That is where it sits at the moment, should have plenty of time to work on the doors today. Baby it's cold outside.

Popular Post B1rdhunter
Got all of the doors hung today. Those strap hinges were a bit of a bugger to work with as they are all cast iron and somewhat irregular. I'll work on trying to even up the gaps tomorrow but I'm pretty sure they wont be perfect, Then onto the 6'6"x24"x1.5" top, finish staining and wait for some warmer weather to spray finish.

Popular Post B1rdhunter
Getting closer but I am having to put the finish on by hand because my spray booth/ garage is a bit chilly to use the Fuji.

Popular Post B1rdhunter
Well Gentlemen here is the finished sideboard. It came out better than I had hoped for from a retired bricklayer/wood hacker. Enjoy the figure.
treeslayer
That came out great and a very nice compliment to that table and you’re right that is some of the best figure I’ve seen in a while, well done !
Popular Post B1rdhunter
The dividers make it a little harder to see but the drawer fronts are all consecutive pieces from the same board. Here is the view from sitting beside the sideboard, I am living in quarter sawn heaven. And thanks treeslayer hopefully we can meet up someday and possibly get coop and a few others involved. Maybe we should go see Spanky.
Popular Post Coop
Man, I’m up for it for sure! The more the merrier! Great job, great room! one of our bedrooms has a qtr. sawn white oak Stickley style bed that I slept in as a kid. My brother, before I got into Woodworking, made me a side table to go with the bed. I cherish both pieces
Chestnut
That is a beautiful space. The sideboard turned out great. I have to admit I was on the fence with the large strap hinges but they look great with the finished piece. That dark stained or fumed oak look works great with the black iron.

B1rdhunter
Thanks guys, I woke up this morning and the first look in the early morning light gave me goosebumps. I think it's going to be perfect for what I had in mind.
B1rdhunter
And just in case anybody is straining there eyes......... I did clock all of the screws. The screws that came with the hinges were straight slot screws and I had to hacksaw all of them deeper to make them usable. 1
